From November 21-23, Rescue Agreement performed during a sold out run inside an intricately designed townhome known as Norwood, provided each audience member with an individual experience and gift, and effectively change the way they look at history - all for free.
WHY FREE? In an economy where money is so tight and leisure activities, though emotionally benenfical, take a back seat to food and rent, it is crucial to have an open and accessible artistic powerhouse providing the best in entertainment and intellectuality.
So here's the story:
Norwood generously donated their space to us for a limited run of Eden Electric (official site). We asssembled a talented and committed cast and crew of 15 (up from 9 in the workshop), including two interns and a design team.
Thankfully, the space was being donated. But there were still a number of costs associated with the production.
$75 covers the perishable cost (food, breakable lamps) of one performance ($300 total for runs and performances).
$100 covers the transportation costs of one cast/crew member for the entire rehearsal process ($1,500).
$1,000 covers rehearsal space costs (we would be thrilled to accept space donations for future projects as well).
$3,000 covers ALL design elements (lighting, sound, projections, props and set packages) necessary to engulf our audiences in an unforgettable aesthetic. We did not perform in a theatre, therefore we had to make our environment work for us.
Thank you all so, so much. We are thrilled with the run of Eden!
